WIN YOUR OWN CONCERT: COMPETITION FOR AMATEUR CHOIRS
in collaboration with Kunstfactor
We invite amateur chamber choirs from all over the country to take part in the “Win your own concert” competition. The prize: performance of a contemporary work in the main hall of the Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ during the Tenso Dagen, under the direction of one of the Tenso conductors.
Choirs can compete by sending a recording (or You Tube link) of a short contemporary piece (see downloads). Three amateur choirs will be invited to come to Amsterdam during the Tenso Dagen. They will already have worked with their own conductor on a new composition and on a piece from the XXth century music canon. On Saturday morning the choir will work in the Muziekgebouw studio with one of the Tenso conductors: Laurence Equilbey (FR), Kaspars Putninš (LV) or Hans-Christoph Rademann (DE). The performance in the main hall of Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ takes place in the afternoon. The choir will also give a short performance with its own conductor.
OPEN PODIUM FOR AMATEUR CHOIRS
During the weekend amateur chamber choirs are welcome to perform on the open podium in the central hall of the Muziekgebouw. On one condition: the choir must have less than 40 members, and the music must have been written in the XXth or XXIst century. Maximum 15 minutes per choir. Registration begins on 20 August via this website.
SINGALONG
Following in the footsteps of successful sing-along Matthew Passions and other “join-in” performances of famous choir works: a Tenso sing-along of a XXth century masterpiece. Everyone is welcome to participate. Sheet music will be available beforehand via the website. The Tenso choir singers will also take part.
